Our Growing Philosophy

South Baldwin Farms takes a whole system approach to growing fruit and produce. This includes ensuring healthy and fertile soil, practicing integrated pest management (IPM), drip irrigation for water efficiency, and much more. 

Pest and Disease Management is one of our most commonly asked questions. To help reduce pesticide usage, we use disease models and pest trapping to ensure timeliness of treatments. Also, as part of our IPM program, we use mating disruption for key pests, like coddling moth and oriental fruit moth. This reduces treatments needed and further ensures a clean, healthy piece of fruit.
